Clementine Churchill by Mary Soames is a deeply personal and richly detailed biography of one of the 20th century’s most influential yet often overlooked women. Written by her daughter, this intimate portrait reveals Clementine as far more than just Winston Churchill’s wife—she was his trusted confidante, fierce supporter, and political partner throughout the turbulent years of two world wars and beyond. Soames draws on private letters, diaries, and family memories to paint a nuanced picture of a woman of intelligence, strength, and grace, offering fresh insight into both Clementine’s inner world and her vital role in shaping modern history. This biography is essential reading for anyone interested in the personal dynamics behind political power.

I have repaired this book, but someone else had tried to repair it earlier with tape. The tape rapair is still there as I didn’t remove it, but I did cut is it was rubbish. My repair is much better. You can see part of the repair in the cover image, the black mark down the left side, that is because I replaced the spine with card. Its a good job and the book is quite readable but the old tap inside is a bit messy, although its all dry and non-sticky.
